With quiet strength and unwavering devotion, Dr. Ebenezer T. Florida A&M University’s College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health (CoPPS, IPH) proudly celebrates Professor Mandip Singh Sachdeva, Ph.D., who has been awarded the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Global Leader Award at the annual PharmSci 360 Meeting.
Dr. Cynthia Harris is a long-time leader in academic public health and dedicated advocate for health equity and community engagement. She also makes history as our first Program Director to hold this position, symbolizing an exciting milestone for our community. Her deep experience and commitment to advancing public health education will be tremendous assets to ASPPH and our members.
Dr. Seth Y. Ablordeppey, Interim Dean, FAMU, College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health, was the keynote speaker at the Committee on Minority Affairs (CMA) Luncheon held on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the Marriott Marquis Washington, DC. His talk focused on the theme of diversity and success in analytical chemistry, drawing from his extensive experience in pharmaceutical sciences and his commitment to mentoring underrepresented students in STEM.
Casey Derderian, PharmD (pictured) is the 2025-26 Community Pharmacy PGY-1 resident with Walgreens - FAMU CoPPS, IPH | Northeast Florida Pharmacy Practice Center (NFPPC). Originally from Smithfield, Rhode Island, Dr. Derderian earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island in 2025.
FAMU CoPPS, IPH has three learners, Taneria Austin, Alexis Haynes, and Camille Reed, who traveled all day Saturday and Sunday to Kisumu, Kenya, East Africa with Dr. Scarlet Holcombe, President, Director with Medical Mission Teams, Inc. in Florida.
