Introduction/History of Summer Camp 

The Emerging Pharmacist Summer Camp first launched in 2020. 
The students attended an on line 4-day camp. The summer camp has been attended  in-person since 2021. This summer camp is structured to house 30 high school students on FAMU's campus for a 4 day learning experience. 

Purpose of Summer Camp 

The Emerging Pharmacist Summer Camp is designed to expose high school students, grades 10 - 12, to the role of a pharmacist and the requirements of this career path. Students will have the opportunity to discuss college plans with current pharmacy learners and pharmacists. Campers will also attend SAT and ACT preparation sessions. Each student will have the opportunity to fill prescriptions in the Pharmaceutical Compounding lab. This program also serves as a recruitment tool for the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health.
