Flanked by RCMI colleagues, and FAMU CoPPS, IPH Faculty—Dr. Selina F. Darling-Reed and Dr. Karam F.A. Soliman, Dr. Ablordeppey received the prestigious 2025 Dr. Sidney A. McNairy Mentorship Award from the award’s namesake himself.  

At the recent RCMI Consortium, 2025 National Conference held March 16-19, FAMU CoPPS, IPH Interim Dean, Seth Y. Ablordeppey, Ph.D., received this year’s highly-respected Dr. Sidney A. McNairy Mentorship Award Sidney A. McNairy Jr. Awards for Inclusive Excellence – 2023 RCMI Consortium National Conference.

Two of our outstanding learners, Jocelyn “Jay” Coleman and Jeremy Cooper have been accepted into the prestigious National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) Foundation-UAMS Pharmacy Ownership and Leadership Academy (POLA).

Recently, alumni from FAMU's College of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health (CoPPS, IPH) gathered in Nashville, Tennessee, for the 2025 American Pharmacists Association (APhA) reception, hosted by the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA).

Strengthening Ties: FAMU CoPPS, IPH & CVS Health Continue Their Impactful Partnership  

FAMU College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health (CoPPS, IPH) and CVS Health reach another year of collaboration and partnership. CVS Health contributed a total investment of $17,703 for the financial and material success of FAMU CoPPS, IPH learners.

Spring Into Good Health: The FAMU CoPPS, IPH Peaden Campus Champions Wellness This Semester  

FAMU CoPPS, IPH’s Durell Peaden Jr. Rural Pharmacy Education Campus kicked off the spring 2025 semester with two major health-focused initiatives: the You-Count Homeless Connect Event in January and the C.A. Weis Health Ambassadors community service event in February.

AMCP HBCU Travel Award granted to FAMU CoPPS, IPH PharmD Candidate, Philip Mercado  

FAMU CoPPS, IPH PharmD Candidate, Philip Mercado is one of two recipients of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) Foundation Travel Award. The HBCU Travel Award provides grants to defray travel expenses to AMCP national meetings, enabling future pharmacists to connect with industry leaders, engage in thought-provoking discussions, and gain valuable insights into managed care pharmacy.
