Tallahassee, FL - Well before, during and after the Accreditation Council on Pharmacy Education (ACPE) site visit to the main campus April 10-11, 2024, the postured, prepared, purposeful Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health (FAMU CoPPS, IPH) team has been and continues to reevaluate, revamp, review and reinforce its selfexamined standards of "Excellence With Caring" while "Boldly Striking" to assure learners' desired outcomes of performance. Under its internal and external scrutiny, with much time and effort, the talents and energies of the FAMU CoPPS, IPH have been reverified, with admirable aplomb by ACPE.
"I am pleased to announce that we are in receipt of communication from the ACPE Board
of Directors that continues our full ACPE Accreditation for a term that extends through
June of 2030. This represents the customary maximum accreditation term between comprehensive
program evaluations." was part of the email missive from Tonya S. Martin, PharmD,
BCGP, MAEd, Assistant Dean of Curriculum and Instructional Development, Associate
Professor of Pharmacy Practice, FAMU CoPPS,
IPH. "The Board communication affirms this term with 19 standards identified as compliant
and six as compliant with monitoring with outlined routine reporting expectations."
Further details of the ACPE Evaluation Team Report and Board Actions and Recommendations
will be discussed during the planned College Retreat this July.
FAMU CoPPS, IPH CEO Dean and Professor Johnnie L. Early, II, PhD, RPh noted: "This is a significantly positive achievement for our program, which reflects incredible work of us all as a unit! I would like to express sincerest gratitude to Dr. Tonya Martin, Dr. Arcelia Johnson-Fannin, the ACPE Accreditation Committee, faculty, staff, and administrators who worked and continue to work together to see us to this milestone in our ceaseless efforts to reach our ONE College/ONE Goal!"
