2025 – 2027 FAMU CoPPS, IPH and Organon Fellowship Announced

Davie, FL - The Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Institute of Public Health (FAMU CoPPS, IPH), South Florida Pharmacy Practice Center and Organon Global Field Medical Fellowship welcomes its 2025 – 2027 cohort, according to Dr. Nathaniel Eraikhuemen, Division Director & Professor | Director, FAMU/Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Residency. The ambitious cohort includes Dr. Analisa Espisoto, who was born and raised in New Jersey. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Rutgers, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy in 2024 and graduated magna cum laude. She gained experience across multiple pharmaceutical industry sectors throughout graduate school, including Clinical Science, Medical Affairs & Regulatory Affairs.

Dr. Espisoto contributed to various research projects selected for presentation at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting, showcasing her dedication to advancing pharmacy practice through evidence-based inquiry.

Outside of her professional interests, Analisa enjoys spending time
with her friends and family, staying active, cooking, and walking her
dog. She is excited to begin her fellowship in Medical Affairs &
Outcomes Research at Organon in conjunction with FAMU CoPPS, IPH, where she looks forward to continuing to merge clinical knowledge with innovation to improve patient outcomes.

Dr. Charles Ajala completes the cohort and was born in Queens, New York, now resides in Sicklerville, New Jersey. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia (Athens) College of Pharmacy in May 2025. Motivated by a deep commitment to
equity and representation, Dr. Ajala/Charles has devoted his efforts to empowering underserved communities through education, advocacy, and data-driven solutions that help close healthcare gaps.

Dr. Ajala/Charles served as the National Operation Immunization Chair for the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA), where he led national initiatives to promote vaccine confidence and address disparities in immunization rates. His advocacy work earned national recognition, including the 2024 Voice for Vaccines Award from Shot@Life. He also conducted Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), evaluating the cost-effectiveness of biologic therapies for Crohn’s disease, which he presented at the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) conference.

Besides his professional pursuits, Charles enjoys playing basketball, snowboarding, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. He will continue his journey as a postdoctoral fellow in Global Medical Affairs and Outcomes Research at Organon through FAMU CoPPS, IPH, where he looks forward to contributing to evidence-based strategies that improve patient outcomes.

Dr. Eraikhuemen noted of this prestigious FAMU CoPPS, IPH and Organon dyad, “This partnership aligns with the College’s vision to provide excellent pharmaceutical education, research, and service activities statewide, nationally, and globally in a dynamic health care environment. The College is an expert in the education of student pharmacists; thus, its status will attract a broad and diverse applicant pool. The program provides two years of training in Organon’s functional areas, including medical affairs, research, drug development, biosimilars, health equity, executive leadership, and legal, emphasizing women’s health. This will give the fellows a most unique experience.

 


 

The South Florida Pharmacy Practice Center (SFPPC), located in Davie, Florida, has a long and rich history in training student pharmacists in the greater Miami/Fort Lauderdale/West Palm Beach area. Since its humble beginning at the Jackson Towers in Miami in the early 1970s, the South Florida location of the FAMU CoPPS, IPH has grown and expanded to become the largest of the College's experiential teaching sites.

The faculty and staff at the SFPPC provide education to student pharmacists assigned to general medicine, ambulatory care, psychiatry, and other experiences in an affiliated institution. Student pharmacists receive training in various medical settings and gain invaluable expertise applying didactic knowledge to real-life situations. Through participation in health fairs and community events, patient education and monitoring, volunteerism, and inter-professional interactions, our learners gain invaluable experience to become well-respected in their pharmacy careers.
