Associate Dean for Student Affairs

Debora Taylor, Ed.D., serves as Interim Associate Dean for Student Affairs in the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

 

 

Debora Taylor, Ed.D., serves as Interim Associate Dean for Student Affairs. Her 22-year career in education includes holding positions as such as director for student success, assistant director for the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement, coordinator for student affairs pre-pharmacy, adjunct instructor – college algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus and pharmacy automated systems, coordinator for community outreach and service-learning and coordinator for computer applications.  Her work focus is to ensure the highest academic standards with academic programs in the College and to provide leadership, services and opportunities that enables students to succeed in and contribute to a diverse society as caring, ethical and knowledgeable healthcare professionals.  She creates policies for student retention and success as she oversees the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (RxCARE) program.  Dr. Taylor, also, chairs two college committees that creates and reviews policies to continuously enhance and sustain standards of academic excellence in the College.  She is a member of the Re-Accreditation, Strategic Planning and Assessment committees in the college.  At the University level, she is a member of the Student Retention Council and the Student Success Taskforce.

Dr. Taylor earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics in 2001 and her Master of Education degree in Mathematics from Florida A&M University. In 2013, she earned her Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University where her research focused on the potential of service-learning enhancing student achievement in the educational preparation of pharmacy students.  In addition, she earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Higher Education Administration.  Her passion is to ensure that every student that wants to attend college is afforded the opportunity.
