On behalf of all our faculty, staff, and learners, welcome to the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health (CoPPS, IPH). As dean of the College, I am incredibly proud of the rich tradition of providing practical, experience-based pharmacy education that our College has upheld since its founding in 1951. Our diverse academic programs prepare our learners to become leaders with the intellectual intensity necessary to meet clinical pharmacy, research, and public health challenges. This College is the most significant college of pharmacy in America. As a College, we made a long-awaited milestone. In June 2020, we changed our name to include the Institute of Public Health. This institute has recently propelled the College into a national spotlight with its efforts managing the COVID-19 pandemic. Since its creation in 1995 by the Florida Legislature, the Institute of Public Health has continued its mission of improving the health status of Florida's diverse poor and underserved. In addition, we've renamed each regional instructional site. The regional pharmacy sites have a rich history of training student pharmacists. The new names are: South Florida Pharmacy Practice Center (located in Davie, FL). Northeast Florida Pharmacy Practice Center (located in Jacksonville, FL). Central Florida Pharmacy Practice Center (located in the Tampa/Orlando, Florida area) This renaming better reflects our Colleges value in the community and industry. These name changes align with our mission. Please take a moment to look back at previous news and events on our website. Also, join us on social media via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn.
