ALUMNI PROFILE: Turkesia Robertson-Jones, PharmD

Turkesia Robertson-Jones, Pharm.D. is the Southeast Region Associate Vice-President of Pharmacy at CareSource, a managed care health plan. Prior to her current role, Turkesia served as the Director of Pharmacy for CareSource’s Georgia market.
Dr. Robertson-Jones earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida A&M University (FAMU). After graduation, she began her career as a Nuclear Pharmacist. Prior to joining CareSource, she served as the Pharmacy Operations Manager & Interim Pharmacy Director for the Georgia Department of Community Health (GA DCH) – Medicaid Division.
Dr. Robertson-Jones’ career as a pharmacist has been marked by a profound sense of commitment, caring, and excellence in the tasks she performs. Her accomplishments in pharmacy have been noteworthy and her community involvement has been equally impressive. She is passionate about helping our youth pursue higher education which is evident by the $1.1M in scholarships that were given under her leadership as the Scholarship Program Chair at Cascade United Methodist Church.
Dr. Robertson-Jones believes in paying it forward. She was the catalyst in adding the GA DCH as a rotation site for FAMU College of Pharmacy (COP). More than 10 students were able to take advantage of that rare opportunity to obtain experiential training at a State Medicaid Program. At CareSource, Turkesia has created the same opportunity for FAMU COP students. Beginning Summer 2021, CareSource will serve as a rotation site for FAMU COP and they selected their 1st FAMU pharmacy resident for the 2021-2022 program year.
Dr. Robertson-Jones lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and has been married to her husband & FAMU alum, David Jones for 17 years. They have 2 sons, David II and Evan and in her spare time, she enjoys golfing, traveling, and serving the community alongside her sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporate
