FAMU CoPPS, IPH Student Pharmacist Lauryn Hill was selected as the inaugural candidate for the Boston Medical Center and FAMU School of Business and Industry PGY1 & PGY2 - Health System Administration Leadership Residency + MBA Program.

The purpose of the HSPAL + MBA program in collaboration with the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University School of Business and Industry (FAMU SBI) is to develop the next generation of pharmacy leaders, specifically as it relates to underrepresented minorities (URM) in pharmacy leadership roles. This inaugural program at BMC will expose the pharmacy residents to a solid clinical experience during the first year, with a concentration in pharmacy operations and health-system administrative leadership teams in the second year. The resident will complete MBA coursework longitudinally via online courses at FAMU SBI. Learning from some of the best programs in the region, residents will develop relevant clinical pharmacy competencies and work on pharmacy and health-system corporate/business strategy initiatives.

Lauryn Hill is a 4th- year PharmD candidate and the inaugural candidate for this program. Throughout her pharmacy school journey, she has had the honor of serving as President of her P3 and P4 class. This position has allowed her to exercise leadership amongst her peers and serve as a liaison between the student body and administration. Lauryn is also an active member of Kappa Epsilon Professional Pharmacy Fraternity, INC, and has interned for Walgreens Pharmacy Co.

As Lauryn matriculates through FAMU's College of Pharmacy, her main goal is to achieve her Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences. She strives every day to be exemplary for herself and others around her and feels it is her responsibility to give her time and contributions to meet the needs of her campus and community. She is honored to have been recently matched with Boston Medical Center. She will complete a PGY1/2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Leadership Residency and obtain a Master of Business Administration, MBA.

Lauryn will start the program in June 2022.
