FAMU CoPPS, IPH Class of 2026 Secures Placements Across the Nation

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Florida A&M University's College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has once again demonstrated its nationwide impact, as the Class of 2026 has obtained placements within the areas of community practice, hospital residency programs, fellowships, and military service upon their graduation.

Placements were made in over a dozen states, with a notable number of graduates taking up jobs in Florida such as Tallahassee, Miami, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, and Pensacola. Other graduates have accepted postings in Washington, D.C., Texas, Louisiana, and California.

Notable among the students was that many achieved competitive residency positions at institutions such as Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with FSU Health, Washington DC VA Medical Center, North Florida/South Georgia VA Health System in Gainesville, Baylor Scott & White in Temple, TX, HCA Florida and VA Gainesville.

Two graduates secured pharmacy fellowship positions. Maryam Akintoye will serve as a pharmacy fellow at Amgen in Thousand Oaks, Calif., while Kyla Ellis accepted a fellowship with GSK, Howard University and Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C.

The majority of graduates entering direct practice accepted community pharmacist roles at major retail chains and grocery pharmacies, including CVS Health, Walgreens, Publix Pharmacy and Walmart locations across Florida and beyond.

One graduate, Aleyah Greer, will practice pharmacy through the United States Army, underscoring the program's reach into military healthcare.

FAMU's College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health founded in 1951, is among the nation's leading historically Black colleges and universities’ pharmacy programs.
