FAMU Pharmacy Alumnus Robert “Stan” Loomis to be inducted into the College’s Gallery of Distinction

Penultimate to start of Fall Semester 2025

Tallahassee, Fla. – The Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health (CoPPS, IPH) proudly hosts Day One of its 2025 Induction Ceremony into the Gallery of Distinction on Thursday, August 21, 2:00 PM EST in the college’s foyer at 1415 S. Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32307.

Among this year’s inductees is distinguished alumnus Robert “Stan” Loomis | Founder, Olympia Pharmaceuticals & Wesley Pharmaceuticals | FAMU B.S. Pharmacy 1977, who is being celebrated for his remarkable achievements and innovations in the pharmaceutical industry. The highly anticipated ceremony recognizes the extraordinary impact of alumni, faculty, and staff whose efforts have propelled the college—and its mission—forward. “Robert ‘Stan’ Loomis exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit and enduring excellence that define our FAMU pharmacy legacy. His journey—from learner to industry innovator—reflects the transformative power of a FAMU education and the limitless impact of our alumni. We are proud to honor Mr. Loomis in the Gallery of Distinction, where his story will continue to inspire future generations of pharmacists and healthcare leaders,” stated FAMU CoPPS, IPH Interim Dean and Professor, Dr. Seth Y. Ablordeppey.

Stan Loomis is an Independent Pharmacy Consultant in Orlando, Florida with more than 47 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry as a pharmacist, entrepreneur, and consultant. He built and advised several successful independent and compounding pharmacies throughout his career, launching seven Loomis Drug Stores early on and founding Olympia Pharmaceuticals in 2009, a company that today employs over 200 people. In 2024, he co-founded Wesley Pharmaceuticals with his wife, Naomi Loomis, further expanding his impact on the healthcare industry.

Loomis began his career in pharmacy as a pharmacist-manager at an
Orlando-area Walgreens. Five years later, he went on to open the first of seven Loomis Drug Stores, which he owned and operated for 12 years before selling off all the businesses. After founding Olympia Pharmaceuticals, which grew to $27 million in revenue within seven years, he later sold that business and began consulting. Presently, Loomis continues to advise independent pharmacies across the country, helping owners improve operations, boost profitability, and navigate the ever-evolving healthcare landscape. His decades of experience and deep industry knowledge make him a trusted resource for pharmacy startups and seasoned business owners alike.

The Induction Ceremony returns to the FAMU CoPPS, IPH for the first time since 2016, marking a significant milestone in the college’s history, approaching its 75th year of establishment in September 2026. The event not only honors individuals who have shown exceptional service, leadership, and innovation, but also strengthens the bonds that tie the FAMU CoPPS, IPH to its community of changemakers. It serves as a powerful reminder of the college’s ongoing commitment to excellence in pharmacy, public health, research, education, and community advancement.

Robert “Stan” Loomis exemplifies that commitment. Despite his many
professional accomplishments, Loomis has remained intricately connected to the FAMU CoPPS, IPH—recently returning to campus with his wife/pharmacist Naomi Loomis, in December 2024, to engage with pharmacy learners in their Pharmacy Law & Healthcare Ethics class with Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Ryan Johnson, PharmD in the college.

The FAMU CoPPS, IPH eagerly looks forward to celebrating Loomis’ legacy during this public ceremony. The FAMU CoPPS, IPH expresses its heartfelt gratitude to pharmacist, entrepreneur, and consultant Robert “Stan” Loomis, for his continued support, leadership, and belief in the college’s mission.
