Northeast Florida Pharmacy Practice Center leads by example
Jacksonville, FL – Casey Derderian, PharmD (pictured) is the 2025-26 Community Pharmacy PGY-1 resident with Walgreens - FAMU CoPPS, IPH | Northeast Florida Pharmacy Practice Center (NFPPC). Originally from Smithfield, Rhode Island, Dr. Derderian earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island in 2025. “Casey chose to pursue a residency with the FAMU CoPPS, IPH to gain hands-on, versatile experiences in direct patient care, with the ultimate goal of becoming an ambulatory care pharmacist,” according to Quovadis Epps, PharmD, MS, BCPS | Associate Professor of Pharmacy.
Dr. Derderian’s clinical interests include chronic disease state management—particularly diabetes and cardiology—as well as infectious diseases. Outside of pharmacy, Casey enjoys spending time at the beach and exploring different types of exercise classes. She also loves to cook and is always on the hunt for new recipes to try out!
“We would like to congratulate Casey on passing both the NAPLEX and MPJE! She is off to a great start this residency year and we look forward to working with her,” emphasized Dr. Epps.
The collaboration between the FAMU CoPPS, IPH and Walgreens exemplifies a shared commitment to advancing pharmacy education, community health, and workforce development.
