Five learners from Florida A&M University's Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) attended the annual SNPhA Regional Conference in Washington, D.C., on March 10-11, 2023. The attendees included Joel Connor Stengel, Feglynn Jean-Baptiste, Nancy Okebe, Bunmi Ikunika, and Emmanuel Ogunsola, all of whom are P2 or P3 pharmacy learners.

The conference allowed the learners to attend workshops from industry leaders such as RiteAid, Eli Lilly, and Walmart. The workshops focused on topics such as creating a professional CV, preparing for interviews, and how to become an industry pharmacist. During their breaks, the learners also had the chance to tour some of the iconic sites in Washington, D.C.

The conference concluded with a banquet to celebrate all the schools in attendance. The FAMU SNPhA members had the opportunity to network with other pharmacy learners and professionals, further enhancing their understanding of the industry.

FAMU created SNPhA in 1972, and the organization has since played a vital role in preparing pharmacy learners for their professional careers. The organization was founded by FAMU alumni Sharon Roquemore and John J. Scrivens, underscoring the institution's long-standing commitment to fostering excellence in pharmacy education.

The participation of FAMU SNPhA members at the regional conference highlights the College's continued commitment to providing its learners with the best opportunities to develop their skills and knowledge. It is also a testament to the value that the College places on providing its learners with experiences that will prepare them for the competitive world of pharmacy.
