FAMU Pharmacy Alumnus Receives APhA Fellow Award for Outstanding Contributions to Pharmacy Profession

Mr. Michael Jackson, BPharm, CPh, has been a dedicated and hardworking pharmacist since he graduated from Florida A&M University's College of Pharmacy in 1976. He has worked tirelessly for over 40 years, serving the community and advocating for the pharmacy profession.

Recently retired from his role as Executive Vice President and CEO of the Florida Pharmacy Association, Mr. Jackson is still actively involved in the pharmacy field. He serves as the inaugural FAMU College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health Eminent Scholar in Residence.

His dedication and hard work were recognized this past weekend at the APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition in Phoenix, Arizona, where he received the APhA Fellow Award. This prestigious award was established to honor APhA members for their exemplary professional achievements in professional practice and outstanding service to the profession.

The APhA Fellow Award also recognizes outstanding service to the profession, explicitly emphasizing APhA-related activities. Mr. Jackson shares that he has substantially contributed to the pharmacy profession through his practice, scholarship, education, mentoring, and advocacy. He has always been passionate about promoting the importance of pharmacists in the community, and he hopes that this award will inspire others to do the same. He was honored to receive this award and looks forward to continuing his work in the pharmacy field for many years to come.
