Progression Students (FAMU College of Pharmacy Pre-Pharmacy Students Only)

Applicants enrolled in the Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy Pre-Pharmacy Program must submit theCollege of Pharmacy Progression Supplemental Application for admission to the first year of the professional program. Applicants for admission as a progression student to the first year of the professional degree program must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 in all college coursework is required. A grade of "C" or better is required in all prerequisite courses (C- is not acceptable). Please note that all college course loads, withdrawals and repeat courses will be considered. Performance in science and mathematics coursework is critically evaluated. In addition to academic competence, the College's admission committee considers leadership ability, community service, communication skills, and motivation for pursuing a career in pharmacy. All application materials must be received in the College of Pharmacy Office of Student Services prior to the February 1st deadline. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in the interview process.

In addition to the College of Pharmacy Supplemental Application, the College requires the following additional information:

  • Three (3) letters of recommendation in combination with three (3) evaluation forms. Recommendation letters and evaluation forms must be from a pharmacist, a professor, and a person familiar with your potential for study in a pharmacy professional program.
  • If you have attended a school or college of pharmacy, you must submit a letter of recommendation mailed directly from the dean of the school/college of pharmacy indicating your academic status.
  • Students entering FAMU must have completed two (2) years of the same foreign language in high school or six semester hours (or the equivalent) of a foreign language at an accredited undergraduate institution prior to enrollment. Each applicant must document completion of this requirement prior to admission
  • If invited, a personal interview is required for the most qualified students after applications have been reviewed.
