Meet Our Learners

CoPPS, IPH are avid learners are who are engaged in the classroom. Each learner brings a unique combination of background, intellect, aptitude, and knowledge.

Ja'Miera Stuart

Stuart was recently appointed as the national SNPhA Legislative, Membership Benefits and Immigration Chair. In this role, she will promote equal rights and advocate for the underserved populations through education and awareness of legal or legislative issues affecting healthcare. Her involvement in several other CoPPS, IPH student organizations have enhanced her leadership skills. Stuart has served as the Chapter President of the Alpha Xi Chapter of Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, Incorporated, FPA member, CoPPS Ambassadors, and FAMU Global Health Assoc.

Josef Wills

Wills, a P4 learner, earned the Experiential Star recognition from his involvement in his institutional IPPE at Doctors Memorial Hospital in Perry, FL. His preceptor, Dr. Cherie Richey, said “It has been a pleasure to accommodate Josef, as he has truly invested himself in learning all about DMH. He has many opportunities to learn from the medical and nursing staff who were happy to accommodate him due to his professionalism. I appreciate him going above and beyond in each project. He will be a great asset to our pharmacy profession in the future.”

Asha Rizor

Rizor, a Ph.D. candidate in the pharmacology/toxicology discipline, received a significant distinction in 2019. Rizor, is the recipient of the American College of Toxicology (ACT) Graduate Fellowship. This fellowship recognizes outstanding graduate students in the field of toxicology who have the potential to contribute significantly to the field through research and scientific achievement. Rizor won this award based on her research in neuropharmacology/ toxicology, where she investigated the molecular mechanisms of heavy metal-induced neurotoxicity.
